The Austrian National, in collaboration with the European DDC Users' 
Group (EDUG), would like to invite you to the symposium

Dewey goes Europe: on the use and development of the Dewey Decimal 
Classification (DDC) in European libraries

28 April 2009, 9:30 a.m. – 4:15 p.m.
Oratory of the Austrian National Library
Josefsplatz 1, 1015 Vienna

Introductory talks on the DDC and EDUG together with firsthand 
reports from Dewey users in Switzerland, Germany and Iceland will 
provide practising Dewey users as well as librarians interested in 
learning more about the DDC with an overview of recent developments 
and current applications in European libraries. Research updates on 
translations, mapping projects, and Dewey web services will inform 
attendees about current and potential uses of the DDC in a European 
and global context.
